On my new Dell portable I have no problems remotely connecting to the 'Net when using the ethernet port, but I've yet to get the built in wireless working. Using iwconfig/iwlist I can see and connect to a wireless AP, but I cannot always obtain an IP lease running dhcpcd

I cannot enable the network manager app in my Linux environment on my Android 7.1.2 OnePlus One device. Without enabling, I am unable to connect wireless to wlan0 & wlan1.

In my f28 xfce installation i have nm applet, maybe uninstalling something you have uninstalled it as a dependency (ex.ModemManager-glib), but nothing easier than installing it from the fedora repository (if it is not installed). sudo apt install network-manager network-manager-gnome Finally, you can reboot Raspberry Pi and connect a network on the top panel on desktop; you can now enjoy the benefit from Network Manager. Note: If you use Ubuntu Mate on Raspberry Pi, the Network Manager is already installed and you don't need to set it up. Xubuntu 10.04 comes with some GNOME applications such as the Network Manager, just tried on a fresh install: Don't know what is used in Xubuntu 10.10, but I doubt it's much different. If you're not happy with Network Manager you can always switch to WICD as karthick87 suggested.
After waking from suspend Network Manager seems to be blind to all networks and connections (empty wifi icon, nothing in lists) but, lo and behold - I am still connected to my home network.
